Guidelines
Submissions welcome at all times.
We are seeking stories of Science Fiction and Fantasy, including Sword and Sorcery, Heroic Fantasy, Post Apocalyptic, Steam Punk, Paranormal and Romance if the story has any of the elements above. I prefer speculative fiction with strong characters and morals that uplift the down trodden, conquer the forces of evil and bring hope into our world. In short, I want stories in which the protagonist wins.
No Horror, extreme gory violence, erotica, excessive foul language or abusive stories. Any such stories will be deleted without reply. The editor reserves the right to make minor alterations concerning grammar and punctuation.
Word count is to be greater than Twenty-five hundred and less than Five thousand words. Please send in .rtf format in an e-mail attachment to editor@aurorawolf.com . Use Times New Roman, number 12 font, no indentation and no double spacing between text, or a space between the paragraphs. Use Italics if you wish, do not underline for italics. In the subject line place Story Submission-Title-Last Name. In the body of the e-mail and your attachment at the top of the story place your contact information. This is for your work’s protection and payment. If you wish to include a short bio this is fine.
Upon acceptance I will pay Five Dollars within thirty days of publication for first world electronic rights for 12 months, and non-exclusive print anthology rights for 12 months, and the right to archive the work online for readers to view at my discretion. At the end of the twelve month period all rights return to the author unless notified about an upcoming anthology.
I will accept ART freely loaned to Aurora Wolf that you own, of Quality drawings in color, graphic design and photographs of the Genre stated above. In the subject line place Art Submission and send in an attachment. Place your contact information in the body of the e-mail and anything else you would like to relate about your work. A small bio and a link is acceptable for the readers. Place your last name in the art work’s title of the attachment at the end. Send all Art submissions to editor@aurorawolf.com . You will be given credit for your artwork and have the right to link to the sight for publicity. You retain your copyrights, but please refrain from posting the artwork to another e-zine. You may withdraw your artwork at anytime with timely notice. If your artwork is exceptional and we use it in the upcoming anthology, we will offer you a contract. If your artwork is accepted for a splash page for the journal’s cover art, you will be compensated for the first world electronic rights for twelve months.
All work is engine searched for first publication only. No previously published stories, simultaneous or multiple submissions accepted. Only one story will be accepted per author for each issue. Previous stories by the same author will be archived, but still accessable.
At this time, I am Not accepting Poetry or Flash Fiction.
Payment of Fiction and Art is minimal, but the up side is you get published and free advertising of your quality work. In 2010 Aurora Wolf intends to publish an Anthology.
We do ask that you refrain from re-posting your work anywhere else after notification of acceptance for the period of twelve months after publication. During this time, permission is granted to contributors to freely post hyper-links which allow others to read or view their work on our site. At anytime Aurora Wolf reserves the right to return your work and the copyrights due to infractions of these rules. By submitting your work to this journal, you acknowledge that you have read and agreed to these guidelines.
Aurora Wolf is accepting Alaskan short stories of fiction or not at this time. This anthology will be published during 2010 and will pay Ten dollars within thirty days after publication.
